GRACE LUTHERAN LADIES AID

Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid and LWML was called to order June 11, 2008, by vice-president Beverly Hansen. Beverly Hansen gave the opening devotion entitled “Three Stages in Life.” Roll call was answered by 17 members and Pastor Lilienkamp.
Minutes of the April and May meetings were read and approved with the correction of delegates to the District Convention being Barbara Greve, Esther Brader and Jessica Sebade. The treasurer’s reports was given and filed for audit.
Committee reports: Sewing -- will meet on June 26. Visiting -- many cards were sent, visiting was done at the Oaks, Wayne and Wakefield Care Centers. Funeral -- Bernthal family and friends were served at the Campus Center following the committal service for Mrs. Bernthal. Seminary Student -- Beverly Hansen read the letter she received form Jacob Bobby. KimBerly Hansen will write next month.
Rhonda Sebade and Barb Greve reported on the District Convention activities . Jessica Sebade, our Young Women’s Rep, gave a report on her involvement at the convention. A motion was made, seconded and carried to send $25 memorial in memory of Pastor and Mrs. Bernthal to mite collection.
Pastor Lilienkamp reported the Lutherans for Life Fund Raiser Bike Riders will gather July 13 in the basement for a potluck. A motion was made and seconded to give $100 to the fund. Motion carried.
Correspondence was read.
Mites were collected.
Pastor Lilienkamp led the Bible study, “Does the Bible Really Say That?” based on Psalm 119:11.
Elinor Jensen and Delores Utecht served lunch. Leona Janke and Milly Thomsen will host in July.
The birthday song was sung for Mary Janke, Pastor Pasche and Verdelle Reeg.
