| JOYBELL CONCERT
Kristine Stout, Handbell Soloist, will be featured in an inspirational, passionately joyous musical celebration at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Wayne, on Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 pm. The concert, entitled Joy Un-speak-a-bell!, will include a variety of music featuring hymns, patriotic music, classical music and more. Kristine handles three octaves of English Handbells (37 bells) all by herself! A free-will offering will be taken and refreshment will b served. |
| FAN INTO FLAME
Fan Into Flame is a financial appeal of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to fund above and beyond mission projects resulting from Ablaze. Ablaze is a movement to share the gospel of Christ with 100 million souls by the year 2017 the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Congregations of the Nebraska District are doing Fan Into Flame during 2008. Plans are being made for Grace Lutheran to participate in Fan Into Flame. Sunday, July 20th following late service, Mission Council is hosting a noon meal for members being asked to organize Fan Into Flame in our congregation. If you have received an invitation to the noon meal and meeting, please plan on attending. If you are interested in learning more about Fan Into Flame, please come as a guest of the Mission Council. |

REMEMBER. . .Lutherans For Life Bike Ride Potluck, July 13, at 7:00 pm. LUTHERANS FOR LIFE BIKE RIDE The bike ride will begin and end at Grace Lutheran in Wayne. The bike ride is the major fund-raising event for Nebraska Lutherans For Life. Approximately 20 riders pedal about 280 miles in four days to raise funds and share the sanctity of life message in the communities visited. This year the ride will begin in Wayne, then on to Yankton, SD, then on to LeMars, IA, then on to Mapleton, IA, and back to Wayne, 286 miles in all. If you would like to ride all or part of the route, contact Pastor Lilienkamp. You support the ride by making a donation or participating in the Sunday evening, July 13th potluck here at Grace. |
| BIKE RIDE POTLUCK
Grace will be hosting an opening bike ride
potluck on Sunday, July 13th at 7:00 pm. LFL bike riders will gather here
at Grace Sunday, July 13th. Grace members are responsible for providing
supper, which will be a delicious potluck in the church basement. In coming
to the potluck, you will help provide supper, meet interesting bike riders,
participate in the opening ceremony, hear a brief sanctity of life presentation,
and provide encouragement! Congregation members, please attend the potluck;
bring a main dish and one side dish (veggie, salad or dessert). The GIFT
group is sponsoring the event by setting up and taking down, and providing
drinks. If you would like to support the pro-life ministry of LFL, bring
a check/cash donation for LFL. Checks can be made out to: Nebraska Lutherans
For Life. |

PRAIRIE FIRE A Prairie Fire can sweep across Nebraska, changing everything in its path. The Good News of Jesus on the lips of Christians is even more powerful. Come to Concordia University on August 2nd for the Nebraska District Prairie Fire Event to learn how the Lord can use you to spread His Word across Nebraska. Registration forms are in the church office or you can register online at www.ndlcms.org. It would be great to have several carloads of people attending from Grace. |
| RELAY FOR LIFE. . . will be held Friday night, June 6th at the WSC track. You can still support our Amazing Grace Relay Team by purchasing a luminary for $10, purchase chances for a beautiful, framed, matted print, 6/$10, or just making a donation. Even if you arent part of a relay team, you are invited to join the activities at the WSC track. A memorial lighting of the luminaries begins around 10 PM. |
| SERMON SERIES.
. . on the 10 Commandments will begin Sunday June 1st. Today is known as
a time of relativity, in other words, there really is no right or wrong.
While we can not earn our salvation by keeping the 10 Commandments, they
serve as a good guide for godly for Christians. It is a good thing to be
reminded of the commandments on a regular basis. As reminder of the commandments,
a summer preaching series will be offered on the commandments beginning
Sunday June 1st. Please note the preaching series and plan on being in worship
every Sunday over the summer. Aluminum Can Collection... The LYF is still collecting aluminum cans as a fund-raiser for the youth group. Please place the cans yo donate in the small shed on the west side of the alley behind the preschool. Please put your cans in plastic sacks and NO BOTTLES! ALUMINUM CANS ONLY, NO OTHER TYPE OF ALUMINUM. The youth appreciate your effort in helping to raise money and also helping to clean up the environment! |
